College Foundation of North Carolina – a website to help students with career and college planning.

NCcareers.org – a website that partnered with CFNC to offer students several ways to explore career interests, including information about educational requirements and salaries for the careers that closely match their interests. The skills matcher can be utilized to help identify careers that match your skills. The work values sorter can help you see and understand your work values and what is most important to you in a job.

Careeronestop.org – a website sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor that has tools for career exploration, training, and jobs. This site can be useful for students and adults in their career exploration.

Educationplanner.org – a website that offers information and resources for career planning, self-assessments, including an interest inventory, assessment about learning style, study habits, and character traits.

Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) – a website that can be used for career exploration. Browse through the 25 major occupation groups on the homepage to find fields that align with your interests. Use the Occupation Finder to filter jobs by specific criteria such as median pay, required entry-level education, and projected growth rate. Once a career is selected, review the Summary tab for a high-level overview, then dive into detailed sections like “What They Do” for daily tasks, “How to Become One” for necessary training or licenses, and “Job Outlook” to see the projected demand for that profession over the next decade.

O*Net Online – a free comprehensive website sponsored by the US Department of Labor. It is designed to help job seekers, students and professionals understand what happens in almost any job.

CareerExplorer – a free interactive platform designed to help students discover their ideal career paths through self-discovery. Students receive a personalized career match by taking a 30-minute assessment that evaluates their interests, personality and goals to provide a list of compatible careers.
